| On
Thursday 3rd April we host the Evenlode Group Meeting. The meeting is at
7.30pm and will include entertainment from Ray and Jan Barnett.
At
our February meeting we had a stimulating talk by Mrs Jan Warner on the
history of Child rearing - "Survival of the Fittest"
Also in February a number of members
enjoyed lunch at The Plough Inn (click
pic. to enlarge) and in March a party of members gathered
at the Oxford Playhouse to see "A Clean House" with Eleanor
Bron and Patricia Hodge. The play had come with some good reviews but,
although a good afternoon out, there were some mixed feelings about the
play.
In March we had our own AGM and also the County AGM at Oxford Town Hall on 19th
March where the guest speakers included Hugo Brunner, Lord
Lieutenant of Oxfordshire and Baroness D'Souza, who enlightened
members to the goings on in the House of Lords.
POST OFFICE D DAY - The
list of proposed closures in Oxfordshire is now out and, subject to a
final review, the Finstock PO will remain open
Some
good news. The move of the Millennium Wall Hanging from the Village Hall
to the Upper Room at Trinity Church has been completed. (Click

TAPIWA
the name of the black rhino at Sebakwe Black Rhino Trust in Zimbabwe,
adopted by Finstock WI members.
As well as it's work with the black rhino, the organisation is
deeply involved with the welfare of the local people who have
been badly affected by the drastic economic conditions in
